Are there helicopters that could offload cargo, thereby lowering the mass displaced? Could a temp crane be erected?

Helicopters might not be able to lift all those loaded containers. Even if they could it would be a huge undertaking and very inefficient. If it were the only option, I suppose it could be done.

Maybe a temporary coffer dam to raise the water level?

I saw a post on this issue earlier today.

If I recollect, it went something along the lines of most heavy duty choppers might be able to lift the smaller 1-unit sized containers. There are a few even heavier duty choppers (Military?) that *might* be able to handle the 2-unit sized containers. But, it would be arduous, as containers are strapped, lifted, one by one. All of this dependent on how heavy the content adds to the total weight. The napkin calculation was that it would take like 6 weeks, doing it 24 hours a day.
