“What is there to hate?”

I wondered the same thing about President Trump over and over and over. He worked miracles for the nation in so many different areas. He took on battles that other president’s were afraid to touch and he won. Every single area of American life was improving. But people hated him because the communist media, Hollywood, and academy said “hate him.” It revealed nothing as much as the inability of ordinary Americans to think logically and clearly.

There may be something to this. FL’s death per 1M (as of this writing) is 1,546/per million. Of all the countries in that lie between the Tropics of Cancer (which is just beneath Florida) and Capricorn, the only one doing worse than FL is Mexico.

Of course, Mexico’s health care systems is not great. If it had a health care system on par with Florida, it likely does better, probably much better.

South Carolina, Louisiana, Tennessee and Alabama haven’t done that great either, and they all lie beneath 37°. BUT, they are also some of the fattest states in the country with a population that has much greater rates of obesity-related pre-existing conditions that don’t play well with COVID, like diabetes and pulmonary hypertension.

Another note: the third wave will come from uncontrolled illegal migration that the current puppet in the Whitehouse encourage and ignited. They will blame the third wave on the Florida and Texas governor.

Yep...thought about that too - especially for Texas.

I figure some time today we will have thousands just drop dead in the streets due to COVID-19!

That reminds me, what ever happened to the supposed satellite videos of thousands of people dead in the streets in Wuhan? Whose propaganda was that, ours or CCPs?

I think the lack of critical thinking capability is perhaps the most worrisome thing about this.

I agree. Having to wear a mask to walk 20 feet to sit at a table and then take it off makes no sense whatsoever.

Propaganda has destroyed people's critical thinking skills.

My wife and I drove to an uncrowded restaurant last October. My wife walked from the car to the front door of the restaurant without her mask, then put it on to enter.
We grabbed the table next to the entry door, a one second walk! After getting seated, she then took her mask off

I think I finally convinced her of the sheer stupidity and uselessness of that action. I called her a “sheeple” which she had not heard (maybe not the nicest thing to say to your wife!). She’s been a lot more reasoned about things since then.

As a rule-

Government has only grown over the years in terms of people, budget, share of GDP it controls.

Taxes have net increased on average.

Government agencies and departments have increased their scope of powers to regulate. You live in a country that regulates what lightbulb you use and how much water your toilet uses per flush, what cooking oil that your allowed to cook your fries in and the DEA wants to know if you buy a nasal decongestant! LOL

Citizens have become more dependent on government for assistance in various forms. Today, the MAJORITY gets government cheese in some fashion or form: from free school lunches, subsidized student loans, day care, social security, Medicare/Medicaid, stimulus checks or a special tax break for their $100,000 Tesla model S (even the rich get welfare in America).

All your basic Constitutionally guaranteed rights as per Bill of Rights (movement, speech, religion, guns, privacy, FISA courts, NSLs, bulk collection, warrantless searches) have only been infringed upon more and more over time. After all, this is a zero sum game and as government grows, the free citizen shrinks.

The liberal ideology has and is winning.

*** It is an unfair fight! The liberal message sounds so enticing (free stuff, no culpability or responsibility, let’s all get along, physical and economic security) until one morning you wake up living in a totalitarian state. ***

It’s hard to argue for freedom when the other guy offers free $1,400 checks, and yes, even many so called conservatives wanted this: https://www.nytimes.com/2021/02/03/us/stimulus-check-polls.html

BTW- I posted in this forum when Trump first began shutting down early on, that this would be his undoing, and it was. He should have resisted harder.

All of these issues, like global warming, the ozone hole, Mandela in S. Africa years ago, are no more than the driving force behind a political, economic and ideological agenda (the issue is the tool/mechanism to get there - like a flag stuck in the ground around which folks rally). There is often some degree of truth to most of them, but the problem is that the decisions made to supposedly “fix” the problem has almost nothing to do with the actual problem they state they are fixing, i.e. masks don’t help, nor did closing schools, beaches, pools, restaurants. The so called “fix” almost always has everything to do with: elections, big business, or some idiotic idea that has finally become wide spread and embraced (i.e. global over population).

***Covid took down a booming economy, and had the US gone into the election November 3, 2019, is there even a remote doubt who would have won?***
