Labour’s Shadow Lord Chancellor and Justice Secretary David Lammy listed heavyweight boxing legend Joe Frazier alongside Judas Iscariot and the KKK in a bizarre Good Friday message.
“Good Friday so thinking about Judas who sold out his brother for 30 pieces of silver.”
“Sure many of us can think a Judas amidst us,” he continued. “Keep the faith: ‘There is no Jesus without Judas, no Martin Luther King without the Klan; no Ali without Joe Frazier; no freedom without tyranny'”.
The decision to list the late Frazier, a heavyweight world champion who brought an Olympic gold medal back to the United States from Tokyo, alongside the likes of Judas and the KKK raised some eyebrows.
Frazier became world champion while Muhammed Ali, was suspended from boxing for refusing to accept his call-up to serve in the Vietnam War like tens of thousands of other Americans.
Frazier supported Ali during his exile from the ring, both financially and by petitioning for him to be granted a licence to compete and to be allowed to conscientiously object to war service on religious grounds — but Ali turned on him after he made his return, deriding Frazier as an “Uncle Tom” and “white people’s champion.”
Frazier won that bout, flooring Ali with his infamous left hook en route to a unanimous decision victory, but the feud continued for years, with Ali stepping up his rhetoric against Frazier — “He’s the other type of Negro,” he said ahead of their last bout of three, branding him a “gorilla” who worked “for the enemy” — and documentaries shot in the pair’s twilight years suggest Frazier never really forgave Ali for it.

It wasn't until late in life that Frazer realized exactly who Ali was.
May he be called NUTS...Labour’s Shadow Lord Chancellor and Justice Secretary David Lammy is part of the Marxist cancel culture. Ignore him.
This insanity reveals what an overblown hero Ali is to the Left.
Forgave Ali for what?
I saw videos of the two of them later in life, and Joe seemed to respect Ali then. I think they. Both had respect for each other as fighters.
The “thrilla in manilla” is said to have put both of them in the hospital because of how brutal the fight was, and how brutal the Humidity was. It was a heck of a battle. It didn’t disappoint. Teo very fierce warriors for zure.
Joe was In and out for the hospital after that fight for over a month with ongoing problems. He fought his heart out in that fight. We just watched it again the other night. Ali tried to take him deep into the fight hoping Joe would slow down but he never really did. It was a phenomenal effort. 15 rounds I beleive it was then. Many Fighters today get winded in 8 or so. Joe was still throwing bombs towards the end of the fight.
The reality would have been that he would have never served in Vietnam combat or even run-of-the-mill support deployment. He would have been given “Elvis like” duty. Still not exactly fair to the “normal Joe’s” that went but much more acceptable then his actions. It was all about money, he was at the top of his career, his peak earning potential, a service hitch would have cost him & his entourage money.
Interesting tidbit, but Lancaster was one of the fight callers in that fight. Did a pretty good job too.
The whole thing is lame.
David Lammy... another Obama. Sent to Harvard as another unqualified diversity student. “First black from Britain to go to Harvard”.
The Communist Purge Is Growing Exponentially & Nothing Is Being Done About It!
It’s a take on old Easter philosophy. A poor attempt. But the original goes something like, “If you’ve never experienced cold, you don’t appreciate warmth. If you don’t know darkness, you can’t appreciate light.
It’s more about understanding that even things we think are bad can make us appreciate the good.
It’s pretty weak in his context. And it takes some “deep thought” in its original context.
The next chapter in the Tao is pretty much saying, “Don’t worry about what others say. They are jerks.”
Let’s see him work that into a tweet.
You are clueless when it comes to boxing.
Two doctors for the NY Commission refused to pass Frazier on his physical before that fight because he had a KIDNEY INFECTION.
They finally came up with a third doctor to pass Frazier.
The fight showed Ali couln’t punch hard enough to keep Frazier off him and that Ali could not defend himself against Joe Frazier’s left hook.
In the tenth round ‘referee’ Arthur Merchante stuck his fingers in Frazier’s eye. Realizing that he had two opponents in the ring with him, Frazier gave the dope Ali an awsome beating as Ali stood with his back on the ropes at the end of the round.
At the beginning of the next [11th] round Frazier knocked Ali down with his left hook. There was a look of utter astonishment on Frazier’s face as ‘referee’ Merchante called it a “slip.”
For the rest of the round Frazier gave Ali such a pounding that flaming shill for Ali Ferdie Pacheco [the doctor in Ali’s corner] called it “the terrible eleventh” in a book he later wrote.
Frazier knocked Ali flat on his back in the 15th round.
Ali’s jaw on the right side was swollen with an enormous hematoma from the number of left hooks he had absorbed.
The clown in Ali’s corner, Budini Brown, cried and cried as they waited for the decision against loser Ali.
Frazier went to the hospital after the fight to have his KIDNEY INFECTION treated.
Take your pathetic, leftwing ‘description’ of the fight and shove it.
“It was all about money, he was at the top of his career, his peak earning potential, a service hitch would have cost him & his entourage money.”
Rocky Bleier, Roger Staubach, Woody Campbell, in Vietnam. Rocky Marciano in WWII. Ted Williams interrupted his career to serve in WWII and Korea. Pat Tillman in Afghanistan. Ty Cobb stopped midcareer and served in WWI overseas in the Chemical Corps. Jimmy Stewart, John Ford, Clark Gable, etc etc.
Ali was a lowlife. He just was.
