Ali had three IQ tests.
One in high school and two for the military.
He scored in the 70’s on each.
Borderline moron.
That’s the straight lefty fairy tale.
No. It’s reality. He was a hated man by a lot of people. If they were going to protect him they could have granted him conscientious objector. The very fact that they didn’t shows they never would have given him Elvis duty.
Agree !
If you say so. I don’t remember it that way but I wasn’t very old at the time.
Three or four, the concept would still apply.
Thanks for proving my point. He was just an uneducated pawn for his handlers.........
All you gotta do is look at the difference between Elvis’ draft (which was pre-scheduled, pre-arranged, and even delayed because his induction conflicted with the shooting schedule of King Creole) and Ali’s (normal regular mass induction, until he refused to step forward). Ali wasn’t getting any special treatment.
“He stood by his beliefs.”
He had no beliefs. He had the mentality of a 12-year-child.
He was constantly surrounded by 3 or 4 Nation of Islam members who dictated every action he did.
They were clones from the main mosque in Chicago—all wore the same black suit, had the same haircut [later Obama had the same haircut] and were all about 5’5”.
Ali was terrified of them and jumped to do what they dictated.
Tell us what the Supreme Court decided in his case.
Their decision was dictated by the deep state for the purpose of avoiding black civil unrest even though he was completely guilty.
He had beliefs. And you’re needlessly insulting. I’m the 3rd person on this thread you’re trying to start a flame war with. And I ain’t biting. We’re done.
A staple of Ali's buildup of fights with Frazier was to demean Joe as ugly, ape-like and stupid. His constant refrain was that It was gonna be a thrilla in Manila when he whupped "the gorilla". Comments like these stuck in Frazier's craw and led to the great animus between them.
Not only this but Black American stood largely with Ali when the two would fight and Joe was understandably perplexed as to why this was being held against him. Joe felt Ali was robbing his glory.
The ignorance displayed here re Ali is surprising for a non lefty site.
“Ali wasn’t getting any special treatment.”
Ali got very spedial treatment from the US Supreme Court.
“Take your pathetic, leftwing ‘description’ of the fight and shove it.”
Yeah, you saw the same fight I saw. My late Husband boxed and when you sit and view a fight with a fighter explaining it, it’s easy to develop a love for the sport and some of the ‘Special Champions.’
Apparently oth you a d Marvin have totally misunderstood my post. In no way was I dissin Frazier, in fact, my post was just the opposite. The fact that he was fighting with ongoing medical issues made his fight even more amazing. He had several medical issues and didn’t let it slow him down one bit. He fought an epic fight, hardly slowing down at all, dropping bomb after bomb till the end. Not sure why you felt the need to repost the nasty false accusation by marvin? Nothing I said was unfactual or a slam on Frazier at all. If anything it pointed how how dang tough the dude was
Didn’t know that. Ali’s not a subject I ever cared much about.
Then maybe he had a point given Elvis’s special treatment.
I don’t give a darn about Ali-Frazier. This idiot says that “there would be no Jesus without Judas”.
What a bozo!
Good point.
Basketball great David Robinson served about 5 years in the Navy as part of his agreement for admittance and an education at the U.S. Naval Academy. That cost him a possible 5 years of making a lot of money in pro-ball but he honored his commitment like a gentleman.
Ali became a brain-damaged Black Muslim who used him like a propaganda prop.
That is the difference.
Frazier fought well and had the guts to finish the fight. He, too, was a gentleman, something sadly lacking in many of today’s professional sports.
My bragging comment here: in 1966 I received an MVP award from my university for fencing. It was given to me by Jessie Owens, one of the greatest American athletes and patriots around, as well as a great gentleman. I was honored to shake his hand.
They are not making them like that anymore among the prima donnas sports professionals (with a few honorable exceptions).
