MPD, USCP, and the DCNG could have EASILY handled January 6th. But for various reasons related to intel, planning, and politics they did not have enough personnel at the Capitol. It’s as simple as that.

NO it is "not as simple as that"....it is the Speaker's job to make sure the security is enough.....Pelosi is at fault and is no where to be found...
the only reason they couldn’t handle DC was the combination of Pelosi/Bowser, who both tsked tsked Trump and others’ concerns that crowd control and safety was essential. Bowser having a recently signed agreement in hand that it was her call whether to deploy national guard or not.
Had nothing happened at the Capitol, the remainder of the night would have been antifa/blm open season on the attendees, as has happened at every single republican event in the past 5 years.
