The calls come in the wake of a speech Breyer gave to Harvard Law School students and alumni earlier this week when he warned that court packing – a term for adding seats to the Supreme Court to change its political makeup – could harm the rule of law in the U.S.
"Proposals have been recently made to increase the number of Supreme Court justices. I'm sure that others will discuss related political arguments," he said. "This lecture reflects my own effort to be certain that those who are going to debate these questions ... also consider an important institutional point. Consider it. Namely, how would court packing reflect and affect the rule of law itself?"
Breyer said that he aimed "to make those whose initial instincts may favor important structural change, or other similar institutional changes, such as forms of court packing, think long and hard before they embody those changes in law."
Demand Justice, a liberal group dedicated to making the federal courts more left-leaning, responded by doubling down on its calls to "Expand the Supreme Court."
Days later, Demand Justice is further lashing out at Breyer, who for decades has sided with left-leaning litigants more often than not.
"Breyer, retire," a billboard truck paid for by Demand Justice, that was driving around Capitol Hill Friday, reads. "Don't risk your legacy."
White House press secretary Jen Psaki – who used to work for Demand Justice – did not call on liberals to lay off their pressure campaign against Breyer when asked on Friday.

Liberals in this context = Bolsheviks
Cancel culture gone stupid.
“Days later, Demand Justice is further lashing out at Breyer...”
How do you like your democrat party now Brey?
Fox News acts as a megaphone, giving voice to some turds that otherwise would never be heard, to generate clicks and revenue.
One way to diminish the power of justices is to pack the court.
Another is to kick justices off the court.
They will not be satisfied until they have control of all three branches of the Federal Government.
The only time RAT's care about the rule of law is when they can bend it to suite their needs in their quest to destroy America.
I “Choke, Choke. Gasp, Gasp” agree with Breyer.
he warned that court packing...could harm the rule of law in the U.S.
*************
That erroneously assumes that the rule of law exists in the U.S. You can’t harm something that does not exist.
We clearly have a tiered “justice” system. Let’s stop pretending that it isn’t. The blindfold was torn off of Lady Justice a long time ago.
Not defending Fox News but the Democrats are always on the offensive so get lots of coverage. They make a lot of noise.
As they say, fortune favors the bold.
The GOP does nothing that is newsworthy. They are always on defense. They are nothing more than a political punching bag and incapable of controlling the narrative.
Breyer - for once - is on the correct side of an issue.
So maybe Pelosi will impeach Breyer if they can’t get him to resign. After all, that’s the way the Left rolls these days.
The Supreme Court is a joke. In a way I hope they pack it and that way people will not be so supportive of the institution and the “laws” it passes through their phony decisions.
They will not be satisfied until they have control of all three branches of the Federal Government.
Yeah. The 98% they control now isn’t enough.
From counties on up they have pretty much taken over this country.
That along with big business I think we all know who is running the country.
Yes, total control as in totalitarianism
Dictionary.com:

Been that way for some time now.
Folks, just like gun control, Biden has no power. He has zero authority.
People believe that by packing SCOTUS, the 2nd Amendment will magically be overturned. It's just not going to happen. States and the people will not comply.
No matter how justices are on the court, they cannot repeal an amendment and then expect people to comply.
More Accurate.
They won’t be satisfied until there is essentially one branch of government, and one absolute ruler. Then they’ll wonder why they aren’t getting all the stuff they were promised.
