Supreme Court Just Dealt A Devastating Blow

The U.S. Supreme Court has delivered a heavy blow to a major left-wing group.

In the 7–2 ruling, the justices sided with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, thwarting the Sierra Club’s bid to obtain documents concerning a regulation finalized in 2014 relating to power plants.

“The Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requires that federal agencies make records available to the public upon request unless those records fall within one of nine exemptions. Exemption 5 incorporates the privileges available to Government agencies in civil litigation, such as the deliberative process privilege, attorney-client privilege, and attorney work-product privilege,” Supreme Court Justice Amy Coney Barrett wrote.

“This case concerns the deliberative process privilege, which protects from disclosure documents generated during an agency’s deliberations about a policy, as opposed to documents that embody or explain a policy that the agency adopts,” she continued.

7-2. Which of the three liberal douches sitting on the SC went with the conservative majority?

“liberal douches”

A bit redundant don’t you think?

RE: Which of the three liberal douches sitting on the SC went with the conservative majority?

I’m guessing the 2 who dissented are Breyer and Sotomayor.

Is this a win? Pretty soon our side will be filung FOIA requests for Biden administration discussions on border lack-of-control, gun restrictions and various medical orders. Those requests eill be thwarted using this ruling.

Very. The word “liberal” can be substituted for many other words. Baby-killer, human-trafficker, pervert, traitor, looter, moocher, back-stabber, coward, weasel, nazi, nutcase... Heck it can really simplify the English language.

I think it’s funny how when I state an opinion on something that goes against a supreme court ruling, leftists will tell me how stupid I am because I disagree with the court. I remind them that almost half the court agrees with me*, so I’m in very good company. :)

*I’m talking about those controversial 5/4 decisions.

I actually see liberals vs leftists the same way I see conservatives vs “far right wing”.

BARRETT, J., delivered the opinion of the Court, in which ROBERTS, C. J., and THOMAS, ALITO, KAGAN, GORSUCH, and KAVANAUGH, JJ., joined. BREYER, J., filed a dissenting opinion, in which SOTOMAYOR, J., joined.

Sotomayer....why does this angry Latina even show up. Just mail in her Liberal vote. No need to listen to anything. She hates America, and all things conservative. She’s a very despicable person.

You would be correct.

After reading the two decisions, I agree with Brewer’s dissent.

The document(s) should have been provided.

This is a good thing.

How is it a good thing for the government to be able to withhold documents from the public? This is not about national security; this is about bureaucrats who don’t want citizens to know and understand the bases of their decisionmaking. Exemption 5 is a tool that advances the growth of government.

I see your point. Kinda Like executive privilege though. Decision mak8ng process is difficult. Given both sides, there’s always the chance you choose wrong. The problem is voting in competent and trustworthy candidates.

>>The U.S. Supreme Court has delivered a heavy blow to a major left-wing group.

This really isn’t a heavy blow to a major ‘left-wing group.

Now that a precedent has been set, the same hammer will be used against ‘right-wing’ groups when they try to hold the government accountable by getting access to information. We shouldn’t be cheering when the government finds way to not comply with FOI requests.

As much as you all would like to think this is a blow against ‘left-wingers’, it is really a blow against the people and transparency in favor of the government and secrecy, things I thought most right-leaning people were for.
