Why would anyone want to be a police officer in this climate?
I’d be seriously looking at retiring ASAP or a new career, maybe private security or consulting.
It’s a real shame how things have turned out these past few years.
And I’m not a cop a$$ kisser, either. I think shooting dogs, no knock raids and most SWAT teams are unnecessary. The militarization of the police is the wrong way to go, but equally so is the demonization of the police.
I say it every time - its yet another leftist / deep state political and propaganda assault a local institution of government and local civic body that is still out of their direct control.
Tell me, when was the last time a Federal law agency or officer was investigated, punished, tried in the media, or threatened with defunding?
Full 2A rights, good pay and giant retirement benefits (3% at age 50) are the reasons I can see.
