I’m no fan of Biden but this isn’t caving. The US should be nowhere near this conflict and we certainly shouldn’t be encouraging the Ukrainians to attack Russia. Russia will not attack unless Ukraine starts.
I’m only against this idea because of the bloodshed involved. I’d love to see Turkey fall to Russia and to “Make Istanbul Constantinople Again”! It would be the victory of the millennium.
You are confusing the modern Russian Federation with the USSR. The countries couldn’t be more different. You would be forgiven for assuming that they are the same countries because the RF holds all of the USSR seats on UNSC, etc, but the RF paid dearly for that, assuming the foreign debt of the ENTIRE USSR, including the countries that declared independence. Not only did they assume the debt but it has since been paid in FULL.

The US is slowly fizzling out on the world stage.
Using one on China or Russia would be really hard to control. They’d be really provoked to counterforce strike somehow. China’s policy seems to be full scale strategic response too if needed. That’s end of the world scenario.
