In a sermon recently our pastor defined the word ‘amuse’.....
....’to divert the attention, beguile, delude’

He correctly, imo, states that people want to be ‘amused’......to divert their attention from what is really happening in the world...ie...go binge watch some more Netflix.......

While we are being ‘amused’......horrific acts ARE happening 24/7.....and we don’t want to know.
Someday we will know, and we will be horrified.

I agree.....there's scads of distracting articles, issues, and various other things being pushed by media onto an eager audience willing to see and hear junk reporting......rather than what should be.
