Very light cotton chains, hardly noticeable, for minutes inside a store or Post Office about once a week. Would I say it was horrible, traumatizing or crazymaking? Naw. I don't care. ;)

I am forced to wear masks all day at the creepy INTEL microchip factory , and Im in oregon a masked liberal stronghold, people jogging alone with masks on , people driving around in cars alone with masks on, everyone is going around giddy in a hypoxia daze .

Not the masks that I used. Local women knowledgeable in textiles made them with two layers of closely woven cotton (with pockets for an extra filter if needed), large pipe cleaners (from craft departments, for the fit around the bridge of the nose), elastic bands and a snug fit for local doctors, nurses, nursing home employees and store employees.

I make my own masks according to a free pattern you can download online, called the "Jesse" pattern. It is the only pattern I've seen which comes in different sizes. You measure in two different directions as described on the website and the resultant mask is then exactly the right size for you. You can now buy aluminum strips with rounded ends to enclose in a pocket on the mask (I use twill tape to form the pocket) to make the nose snugger. I buy nylon athletic shoelaces which are long and cut them in half. I then flame the ends briefly to make them ravel-proof and use them as the ties. I use closely woven cotton in 2 layers plus an interior layer of lightweight interfacing. I wear the mask once before adding it to my used mask pile, and then wash them in detergent and hot water. I don't think I have those chemicals to worry about, but I wish COVID was "over" so I could dispense with wearing masks in stores and while at the doctor.

My impression was that the article was referring to the disposable blue "medical" masks that are sold by the box, that even the dumbest of the dumb and sniveliest of the snivelly wouldn't wash and wear again. Who's going to wash that crap before wearing, eh?

My bad. Sorry. You have a point there. Maybe the producers will be sued. I don't like those masks. Tried one once. They don't fit close enough, especially at the top, around the nose. They fog up glasses. Very annoying!
