If they aren’t the vulnerable population, older people, cases doesn’t matter.
I’m afraid that Mexico, like much of the rest of the world, has not yet provided vaccine protection to most of their elderly. So high case numbers there will likely come with attendant high hospitalization and death numbers.
The USA is among the top five in the world for that (Israel is first). After June, I expect that we will transition into a large vaccine exporter, to help stamp out these outbreaks around the world (and reduce the breeding of new variants).
