Under Biden, dozens of eminent domain cases continue in courts

President Biden halted construction on the wall on the U.S.-Mexico border shortly after taking office in January. However, ongoing eminent domain cases were not paused...

...hundreds of eminent domain cases were brought to take the land (during the Trump Administration)...

In the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas, McAllen Division, there are currently 60 active cases, according to federal records.

These actions are still underway to acquire the land in Texas, needed to build the planned and funded segments of Border Wall, that are not yet completed - either by purchase, or by condemnation under eminent domain (seizure). The Federal Government continues to take title to more of the land needed, every month.

Just a couple of weeks ago, a high profile case, the Cavazos family in Mission Texas (just West of McAllen), lost their two year effort to block the border wall from coming through their property.

Fred Cavazos (in mask) had been something of a poster boy for opposing President Trump's "racist" border wall, but now it is Biden who has seized his land under eminent domain. That property adjoins (on the East) the land where We Build the Wall constructed a segment of privately funded border wall.

The Cavazos keep their riverfront properties and existing structures, except for one small barn. The right of way is now secured for the border wall, and its associated security systems, to run along the existing flood control levee, and close a large gap in the barrier (whenever the Biden pause is lifted).
