You were in a different military in a different era. These are not the clean cut “stable” boys from the 50s and 60s anymore. Every one of them are crying shell shock. No back bone and a huge yellow stripe. They are afraid of their own shadow... They do not have the IQ level to figure out what is just and what is unjust. They only have the IQ to follow orders even if these orders are wrong. Welcome to the well trained government worshiping lap dogs.
Cousin Jimmy told me that when he was over there in Nam this was the IQ level that they made gunners. And he said this is why you never call in in fire support. Because just about every time they get the coordinates backwards and shell you instead of the coordinates of the enemy. IQ level has a LOT to do with this. And every LE dept has an IQ cap. Why? Because questioning why you should shoot first and ask questions later is not advantageous for them. Even if it is against U.S. Citizens.
As a military brat during Nam living on base I have stories. From the outside looking in. And it is not at all the same now.
