By happenstance I was in Cedar Key on Sunday
I hope they’re not gonna do anything in the Everglades. One of my favorite things to do in FL is drive from Miami to Naples via Route 41.
I do. I live near the affected area. We neither need nor want this. Somebody wants to get rich selling rights of way.
I agree.
BAM!
Just More greedy developers from NY or China or Utah destroying the state .
Great area. I’m still looking around along the coast. Cider Key suits me.
Joanie’s Blue Crab Café salute!
That’s an idea.
It appears they’re wanting to extend the Turnpike north of Wildwood. That would definitely help. I won’t be around to see it, but it’s a good thing.
I-95 needs to be 3 lanes each way from Ft. Pierce to Jacksonville. I-75 needs to be 5 lanes each way from Wildwood to I-10. That’s where they should spend the money.
The real problem is that Florida is becoming very popular due to conservative government. Until the liberals ruin Florida the solution is to enlarge it:)
That's one of my favorite drives as well. I stay in Marco Island often and will take day trips to the Miami area.
Lots of alligators!
Wouldnt that be the extension of the Suncoast Pkwy? It ends now north of Spring Hill/south of Homosassa. There is definitely something going on there now but I have not seen where the terminus might be. I 10 would be the logical trajectory from that point.

I just drove the Suncoast Parkway on Monday. There is construction work happening now and I presume the next segment of the Suncoast Parkway will bypass Homosassa and Crystal River. US 19 thru these two cities is the present bottleneck on the Tampa to Tallahassee route.
I drive this route often. They are widening 19 in that area (Homosassa and Crystal River) If they would just synchronize the lights it would make a world of difference. The bypass would be nice but not at the expense of destroying Florida’s charm (no need to Disneyfy the whole state).
I have driven Tampa to Tallahassee using both routes (19 and 75) timewise not much difference. I prefer the less manic drive thru the boondocks and would like it to stay that way.
