What does the fungus have to do with COVID-19 other than to perpetuate more fear?

“A typically rare fungal infection called mucormycosis has surged in India recently, primarily affecting people recovering from COVID-19.
Experts say this type of fungal infection is extremely rare and that it may be affecting people whose immune systems have been damaged by the coronavirus.
Experts say the use of steroid drugs in these patients may partially explain some of the surge, while the immune-compromised state of COVID-19 patients could explain others.”

A recent discovery about Covid-19 changes things.

Until recently, it was assumed that C19 was a pulmonary (lung) virus, thus it was associated with other pulmonary viruses, like influenza and common cold. However, lots of people experienced unusual and uncommon symptoms, which do not have pulmonary, but *vascular* origins.

That is, their symptoms would show up from other vascular viruses, like Herpes Simplex and Measles.

This also explains why it is people *recovering* from C19 are the ones getting this stuff. All these other problems from reddened toes in children, to erectile dysfunction, to opportunistic other infections are associated with damage to the vascular system.
