United States Customs and Border Protection (CBP) now says that there is a surge in fentanyl coming across the United States border, and the agency has seized more of the incredibly potent narcotic in the first several months of 2021 than it did in all of 2020.
“Customs and Border Protection seized more fentanyl so far in 2021 than all of 2020,” ABC News reported Tuesday. “As of April, 6,494 pounds of fentanyl were seized by authorities at the border, compared to 4,776 pounds in all of 2020. In fact, fentanyl seizures have been increasing since 2018.”
“Fentanyl is an incredibly potent opioid that is 50-100 times stronger than morphine,” an expert noted to ABC News, and during the COVID-19 pandemic, Fentanyl use and abuse surged. Overdoses have continued to ravage the United States even after lockdowns have eased.
CBP has also seen a slight increase in the amount of methamphetamine seized at the southern border, and a slight increase in the amount of narcotics seized overall, particularly along the United States-Mexico border, which is also suffering from a steep increase in illegal immigration.
“CBP’s Office of Field Operations has seen a slight increase in narcotic seizures at its southern border ports of entry in fiscal year 2021,” the agency said in a statement. “As cross-border travel shifted to essential-travel only, criminal organizations shifted their operations as well. CBP has seen an increase in seizures amongst U.S. citizens and in the commercial environment as both demographics are exempt from the travel restrictions.”
Just a side effect of reopening the border, the main purpose is flooding the country with fraudulently documented foreigners.
I wonder what they DO with it. Obviously, they cant just dump it. Maybe it has to be destroyed in a high-heat furnace down to the component atoms.

And because we have an opioid crisis, the Government keeps hammering the pharmaceutical companies. Makes perfect sense.
Now don’t be so concerned. No need to waste it. Just give it to criminal gangs, let them sell it, and take a kickback in the form of dark money political donations. It’s all good.
Yup, it’s booked into evidence, and when it’s no longer needed for that purpose, it’s burned.
This is mostly coming from China.
It’s an asymmetrical attack and should be understood as such.
Drug overdose is the main cause of preventable (or accident) death. More people die from drug overdose than in car accidents, guns and ladder (ladder falls are actually #3!) falls together.
If somebody wants to save lives, tackle the drugs is by far the most effective way.
China is waging "Unrestricted Warfare" on the US and, at the moment, they are winning bigly.
It should be imported and offered for free to anyone who wants it.
Those are the people too stupid and addicted to live.
It has a powerfully unique ability to reduce opioid addiction.
It does so by reducing addicts.
A huge amount of this comes from China. It is a biochemical weapon they are using against the youth and future of America. Why kill 100,000 of your enemies youth via armed conflict when you can do it via stealth biochemical warfare?
This is the Chinese getting even for the Opium Wars of the 19th Century.
And there’s probably 10 times more coming through.
I say let the drug addicts just keep killing themselves. Society would be better off without them IMHO. We already have a big enough drag on society as it is.
