Looks like India is over the hump on their breakout - cases dropping rather than growing, even though the absolute number of cases is still high.
Ivermectin may have been the reason for the rapid shift. Several States in India changed their guidance/recommendations to include Ivermectin for prevention and early treatment.
They also stopped exporting vaccine, and started using it all domestically, but that won’t rein in the disease for months, at best.
COVID hospitalizations are no joke. phoneman08 posted yesterday that average COVID hospitalizations are 3 weeks, and can cost a small fortune.

Sorry for the lateness of my reply.
I didn’t really learn anything new...other than it’s absolutely NO fun to get the damned thing. I had a moderate case, not one of those “had-it-for-two-days-and-then-I-was-fine” kind of things.
As for the Regeneron treatment...I’m REALLY glad I got it. I was told by the tech who gave it to me that some people feel almost immediately “like a new man”, and some feel only a slight bit better and get better more slowly. I was in the latter group. I had the last fever I experienced on the evening I got the treatment, likely an allergic reaction. However, it went away and I never had a fever after that.
One of the things I have noticed, and am still dealing with, are the plethora of opinions on what those who had it should do now. Many are saying I should STILL get the Jab and ‘conform’ to what society expects. That’s not a possibility right now anyway. I was told by the tech who gave me the treatment that I should NOT get the Jab for at least 90 days. (The Regeneron treatment ‘teaches’ your body how to fight COVID. The vaxxes do something entirely different, and may interfere with what the Regeneron is doing.) Even after the 90 days, I do not feel I need to get the vax, as I have the antibodies in me already and that’s good enough for me. Besides, I do NOT want to deal with possible injurious or even fatal consequences of getting the vax.
What I AM going to have to deal with is the fear and rejection of various Lefties in my life, such as my sister. I fear that I may completely lose her as a family member. My father, who is NOT a Lefty and supports more conservative ideas (he voted for Trump), STILL wants me to get the vax, mostly because he has some unfounded fears and he is a borderline-insane hypochondriac.
One thing I am also dealing with is that my lungs seem to not want to get as much air as they did before I got sick. I can still breathe, but I just can’t seem to comfortably get as much air as I used to. I fear that may be because the COVID may have scarred my lungs, and it may be permanent.

My buddy who also got the Regeneron (pretty fit, 60yr. old male) reported that he was dragging butt and still short of breath for weeks after (especially the first 2-3 weeks) - but it continued to improve gradually. That is relatively common for moderate to severe cases. His fever also broke the day after infusion, as did President Trump’s and Rudy Giuliani’s.
Permanent lung scarring is generally only seen in severe cases, that require hospitalization.
It is quite possible that the Regeneron halted the disease from progressing to that level - one of the big reasons to take it. If you were to get into the severe state of inflammatory storm, that is when the organs really start getting cooked, especially the lungs - and also when death can suddenly occur from clots. It is priceless to avoid that condition, and once you are are suffering “moderate” COVID, your risk of that is high, if left untreated.
For your concerned relatives, I would recommend selling your having had a strong case of COVID, and the Regeneron, as vaccine equivalents - even stronger and better in many ways. It is vaccination - the hard way.
Also you can tell those pushing vaccination that you are complying precisely and eagerly with the medical/scientific recommendations for your special case. Dazzle them with a few details. Be sincere. Demonstrate that you are on top of it, so that don’t have to worry.
This may help comfort/mollify their concerns, until this whole thing blows over.
The reality is that you do get very strong immunity from having had COVID. and generally a highly symptomatic case like yours confers even stronger, and probably longer lasting immunity, on par with highly effective vaccines (better than J&J, close to the others, on average).
Just as with the vaccines, the few folks who have “breakthrough” re-infections, after having had COVID (or being vaccinated), experience much lesser severity or mortality, on average.
A vaccine shot would likely provide some marginal additional immunity, but you already have the lion’s share of the immunity you are likely to develop.
Thank God everyone is well - you slipped the bullet. I say again, Thank God. We have had other friends who waited too long, or who did not have the similarly positive outcomes. More than one death, and a month-long ICU stay, costing over $100,000 - with likely disability.
I think if you take care of yourself with good health practices (lay off smoking or drinking, get good sleep, eat right and gradually incorporate exercise), you will most likely nurse yourself back to full, deep breathing, and the systemic vigor that comes with that.

Personally, I got the Pfizer vaccine, and after looking into it, I think the risks are on par with vaccines in general (which I have consumed like candy, over a Military career, and a life of wide travel).
So one man’s opinion, I think the risk is quite low, despite the hoopla.
As you rightly point out, in your case, the real medical rewards from vaccination are likely quite small.
