When I was eight years old, a friend explained the mechanics to me. I said “You’re crazy! Where did you ever hear that? There’s no way that could happen.”
Dad had “the talk” with me on the way home from a Boy Scout meeting when I was 13, but I remember the sum total of it was “don’t sleep with girls.” I was still so wet behind the ears I wondered why I would sleep with a girl. I had no idea “sleep” was a euphemism.
