It means that if a business requires the mask, it’s on them when you tell them you’ll shop somewhere else. They can’t fall back on “we’re just following orders.”
I'm in Delaware, where the mandate was just lifted. I've never seen businesses move so fast as the ones I normally patronize to get rid of all their signs and other symbols of compliance.
And yet, as of yesterday, I'd say about seventy percent of patrons were still wearing masks.
Unfortunately, I live in NJ.
I can tell from posts I see on line and conversations I hear that at least 50% of the people here have no intention of removing their masks anytime soon, if ever.
I expect most businesses will still require it. This state is hard core stupid and afraid.
That's exactly the approach I've taken since last Wednesday here in CT. Many of the business still have signs requesting customers to mask up but I'm having none of it. I just go right in there with no mask. If they tell me to put it on, I'll just leave and I'll never come back. I won't give the employees a hassle but I'll find the store manager's name and send him/her an email politely stating so.
So far however, nobody has challenged me about not wearing a mask but I have gotten a few dirty looks from customer Karens.
