.....

Today, Rusty Weston is in stable condition at D.C. General Hospital, shackled to his bed, recovering from gunshot wounds he suffered in the Capitol shootout.

A federal judge in Washington last week granted his mother, father, sister and brother-in-law permission to visit him in the hospital, but his mother said the family likely would not make the 750-mile trip for several more days.

In a way, Rusty's work mirrored his personality. He was perfectly normal, for a while, until the passage of time revealed a penchant for wild stories and wacky theories. His behavior alienated people. He was a solitary figure even in the company of others, and he was often left to himself, alone with his obsessions. Even his sister, April, stopped seeing him.

His tolerant parents tried to comprehend him and couldn't.

1998: Gunman shoots two Capitol Police officers

An armed assailant stormed past a U.S. Capitol security checkpoint, killing Capitol Police officer Jacob J. Chestnut, Jr. and making his way toward the offices of the House Majority Whip, Tom DeLay. Detective John M. Gibson told others to take cover and exchanged fire with the assailant, Russell Eugene Weston, Jr., a 41-year-old man from Illinois. Though Gibson was killed in the exchange, his action enabled other officers to subdue the gunman. The slain officers were the first private citizens to lie in honor in the Capitol Rotunda.

Context and perspective. They’re still bitching about that little TEA party on January 6, and here we have a psycho shooting up the Capitol back in ‘98, plus a list of other violent acts committed in the Capitol going back centuries.

Biden says he’s going to chastise Putin about civil rights in Russia, particularly about the dissident being held in jail. Putin says he’s going to take up the plight of the 1/6 Patriots who are political prisoners being held without bail on Trumped up charges and being beaten. Good for Putin at least he’s doing something that GOP pols and Trump doesn’t have the balls to protest their treatment,

MTG protested their treatment. Derp state will take Putin raising the 1/6 prisoners’ treatment as proof of collusion with Trump.
