The top twenty birth rates by country are 19 African countries plus Pakistan. Even so, the birth rate trend is down everywhere, including Africa. The cause most likely is increasing prosperity which traditionally leads to fewer children. The trend has been ongoing for a number of years. Nothing “sudden” about it.
Mistakes? Because of the never ending big lies, the bureaucracy grew at twice the rate of inflation. They got everything they wanted, plus conference vacations, lewinskies, and Rolls-Royce retirements.
I will be honest as a most skeptical skeptic . the incredible growth right around 1800 was enough to see the hundred years on either side of 1800. Nathaniel Jeanson does great graphics on population density. He uses multidisciplinary checks on the data. It was a game changer for my husband and I.
Demographically, it is most certainly a bomb. The under 80 IQ population is exploding, the over 120 IQ population has zeroed.
Europe has THE LOWEST population growth in the world, and that is with the inundation of dark blood included.
Africa has THE FASTEST population growth in the world, and that is with the mass exodus of dark blood included.
It is a bomb, it has gone off, and we are just waiting for the debris to fall.
ZPG killed my generation. Many bought into this and had no children...by choice....and by abortion. Then they noticed we had no replacement population and opened our borders to those who had not practiced ZPG.
The sad part is we could have raised and educated an entire generation of Americans who were healthy from birth, educated better than those arriving, who spoke English and who loved our country.
I said so then and I say so now. Many were deceived. I was not. Two beautiful healthy kids. One in the Navy and one is a critical care nurse.
Makes me both sad and mad.
Only in civilized countries is the birth rate heading towards zero. In basket case countries, it’s heading for the sky, and our dearly beloved politicians are bringing in the fertile ones to replace the infertile ones.
Get marriage back on track in first world countries, and the next baby boom will be on its way.

This proves that making predictions is difficult, especially about the future.
I was going through public schools during that decade and I had more than one school teacher telling us that they felt sorry for us considering the dystopian "Mad Max" type world we were surely about to inherit.
If I had raised my hand back then and suggested that the biggest societal problems my generation would face might well be obesity and an over abundance of leisure time and material goods, I would have been laughed out of that classroom.
It was all doom and gloom growing up. If we didn't get nuked by the Russians first, we would surely starve to death.
We already knew by the 70s that the surest way to curb population was to have a higher standard of living. Of course that doesn’t stop the globablists from bringing up the specter of ‘overpopulation’ as a boogie man and excuse to control the plebes.
That stupid book was used all over the US to push liberal agendas. Same with the BS climate alarmists crap we put up with today.
“That stupid book was used all over the US to push liberal agendas.”
It sure was and to great effect! May Ehrlich go to hell, though I doubt he believes in one.
Yep. Picture of starving woman - 2020
Yes and to delay the truth emerging, it makes sense to bake in a baseline narrative of plunging world population prior to the vaccine kicking in (as it will take 9 months from the widespread vaccination of fertile-age women for the statistics to start emerging)
“In 100 years - the number of Scots in Scotland with be one quarter of what it is today.”
You are making the same mistake as the over-population crowd... you are taking a short trend and extrapolating it. The fact is that all of these trends are tempered with conservatism. The first casualties of population busts are liberals, who favor abortion and career women and the Michael Stivik pholosophy that the world is such a horrible place that you don’t want to bring children into it. The rest of us will just live our normal, sensible lives.
“Suddenly”? Folks have been saying this for decades now.
