There are many ways the media can misinterpret what you say. They can deliberately misinterpret you. They can accidentally misinterpret you.
And then there’s Michael Flynn.
Donald Trump’s former National Security Advisor was speaking at the “For God & Country Patriot Roundup” — a three-day conference heavy on the conspiracy theories and light on other stuff like reason and sanity. Flynn was asked a simple question by a man who described himself as “a simple Marine” and immediately sent media tongues wagging from sea to sea.
The Marine asked why “what happened in Myanmar can’t happen here.”
“No reason. I mean, it should happen here,” replied the simple-minded Flynn.
Myanmar (Burma) is experiencing a convulsion of violence because on February 1, the army staged a coup d’etat against the democratically elected government. Hundreds have been killed in demonstrations that included the army and police deliberately firing live rounds into crowds of protesters.
Flynn, a retired lieutenant-general of the United States Army, never was one who handled the media very adroitly, even during his time as NSA. But was he really calling for a military coup against the United States government?
Flynn says of course not.
“For all the fake news ‘journalists’: Let me be VERY CLEAR — There is NO reason whatsoever for any coup in America, and I do not and have not at any time called for any action of that sort. Any reporting of any other belief by me is a boldface fabrication based on twisted reporting at a lively panel at a conference of Patriotic Americans who love this country, just as I do. I am no stranger to media manipulating my words and therefore let me repeat my response to a question asked at the conference:

We had OUR ‘coup’ in November 2020...That’s enough for one decade!
A coup was perpetrated by the Bolshevik Democrats and their 5th (news) Columnists in the MSM. It went on for over 4 years. (And the scum in the Republican Party)
If Trump had used military force to insure his legally WON election it would have been more than appropriate.
If we let the steal stand, we will swirl the drain of socialism.
May skip right over becoming North Mexico and go straight to being North Venezuela.
I do think that his phrasing was poor. You could easily mistake his statement as a call for a military coup like in Myanmar.
So, will the media that reported this fake news CORRECT THEMSELVES and prominently publish it?
Instead, sadly, he counted on the honesty, courage and Patriotism of congresscritters.
That’s possible. This isn’t the first time he’s been entrapped.

The media took his words out of context and then twisted his words.
“The man who asked the question may be replicating the tactic used to entrap General Patton into making statements like saying the defeated Nazis were like defeated Democrats or Republicans. If the Left can recycle the Reichstag Fire scenario on January 6th, they can recycle the old entrapment by leading question as well. “
I was there, you are exactly right! It was the Dems who were saying that if DJT refused to leave the White House if he lost the election, they would use the military to remove him.
What will happen if the election audits prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that Biden lost the election?
One of the isanities of the left is that they think the “score” or stats are reality. If you can cheat and fraudulently change the stats, it is still winning. They honestly believe that if you change people’s minds with lies, then it becomes true. It doesn’t. That is part of their utopian delusion.
Depends on where you put the semicolon.

I hate the MSM as much as the next conservative, but the most charitable interpretation of what he said is that he misspoke. Either that, or he actually does support a coup.
They still fear him, greatly.

The military leadership was nearly 100% on the side of the coup and election steal. Concrete examples of this was their refusal to obey his order to leave Syria, their obstruction to being used to suppress the communist riots, their -immediate- efforts to further harass the SEAL Trump pardoned, and their following the orders of somebody other than Trump to send two divisions of National Guard into DC.
That was not an order from Trump, they were under the command of Pence or Pelosi and were in a state of mutiny.
Trump had zero ability to order them into action with an expectation his orders would be followed.
Honestly, I don’t care if he did call for it. It was a joke of course. But at this point the military isn’t trustworthy enough and they do not as an institution embrace the values we WANT enforced. They left Vindman in place AFTER it was obvious he was spying on the President for Ukraine and the CIA.
The military teaches 1619, trannies, state atheism, homosexuality, globalism, etc. The “interagency group” is their loyalty.
He had to be joking because no insane person would ever imagine they could be the answer to the problem.
I see no other way of saving this country!!
Remember a year ago, when the MSM was eagerly sharing liberal calls for top generals to stand up to Trump? The MSM hope you don’t...
