There are a lot of very bad, evil people on the left, and not all of them are ignorant tools.

But I would not use the word “unnerving” to describe my reaction to them. What they say is indeed cause for reflection and preparation. But “unnerving” is too much like “frightening” for me.

Sadly, I think they may drive us to the time where it is necessary to “put on the whole armor of God” and deal with them. But I don’t think any real American should feel frightened or unnerved by them.

"Bodies are piling up"

Nowhere as fast as the BS coming from the Guardian.

Seems like the latest leftmedia trope to delude the public in regards to gun rights is tying it to slavery.

No sale.

If I was called upon to declare upon Oath, whether the Militia have been most serviceable or hurtful upon the whole; I should subscribe to the latter. – George Washington, September 1776

I won't address the topic of this article because it is stupid, but because you seem to be providing supports to and siding with the author on a side point, I will take this opportunity to defend the revolutionary militia, who provided valuable service at such crucial engagements as Saratoga, King's Mountain, Cowpens, Eutaw Springs, etc, when lead by able commanders such as Daniel Morgan. There is a rich and admirable history of amateurs versus professionals here, and far more complete than a single point-in-time quote of George Washington's, who likely came around to a better appreciation of the militia by the time the Constitution was ratified.

“”Bodies are piling up all over the second amendment,” say the redcoats at The Guardian.” They hate our Second Amendment.”

__________

Not so thrilled about the first, either. FWIW.

Frightening is the word I originally used, but I changed it to “unnerving” for exactly the reasons you specified.

I’m betting that because they’re so likely mis-educated or mal-educated that they actually do believe the vile drivel that they write.

“George Washington was disgusted with their lack of fighting ability and the way the men would just cut and run from battling against a professional army.”

They still beat that redcoat professional army, though, didn’t they?

George Washington was disgusted with their lack of fighting ability and the way the men would just cut and run from battling against a professional army.

A militia (by definition) is not comprised of professional soldiers; the most talented commanders recognized that simple fact, and employed their troops (both militia & regulars) accordingly. Daniel Morgan's victory at Cowpens is perhaps the preeminent example of such an approach. James Madison apparently also recognized the disparity between citizen & professional soldiers, when he observed that the entire weight of the States' militias might be needed as a check & balance to unconstitutional actions by the proposed federal government and it's standing army.

The discussion does bring to mind the amazing hypocrisy of leftist attempts to disarm American civilians. On the one hand, they inform us that even a handful of individuals with "assault weapons" are supposedly so incredibly dangerous, that the entire population must surrender the God-given right of self-defence, and agree to be disarmed ('Mr. and Mrs. America, turn them all in!'). Simultaneously, the left informs us that tens of millions of militia members with "assault weapons" would be completely helpless in the face of even a small professional army. Apparently "progressives", fake-newsers, and other leftist riffraff will say just about anything to achieve their ends...

America’s gun obsession is rooted in slavery.

The things people with white guilt say shows their weakness stupidity and lack of logic and in Carol Anderson case the hatred for America.
He hates it they lost their plantation.

Over half of all violent crimes are committed by blacks and their targets are mainly other blacks. The perps are mainly young black males between the ages of 16 and 35. So you have about 2-3% of the population committing over half of all violent crimes.

For all his hallowed sainthood Washington was an elitist for his time. It’s no surprise he should raise his nose in the presence of mere provincials.

The funny thing is those in England considered him a provincial.
