The "root cause" is they can not only come to the U.S. - but be welcomed in - and immediately put on America's 95 welfare programs where they're given free housing, food, medical care, schooling and cash - something they'll never get in their own failed countries.
Hell, they can get cars and drive on our roads drunk and their cars won't even be towed away. They can demonstrate in our streets flying the flags of the countries they fled and demand 'rights' and 'privileges' over the native population, which they'll get (preferences in jobs and colleges). Our schools cater to them and honor their traditions and holidays - while canceling those of the founding population.
After that, they can each bring over 90 of their closest relatives to enjoy the same lifestyle.

The “root cause” is money. Money and free goodies for the illegal aliens. Money for the cartels. Money for the Dem politicians and the big-time donors who make them rich. Money for the cartels and human smugglers. The only people who are left out of this giant money transfer are average American citizens who pay the taxes that feed the whole scheme.
There are several “root causes”, I think, but the major one has to be illegal drugs and America’s appetite for them. Drugs produce the cartels which corrupt the governments which make life miserable for the native population. The other temptations to come here like Biden’s policies, welfare laws, anchor baby policies don’t help but if we got our own house in order, it would benefit everyone.
