PHOENIX – Former Arizona legislator Matt Salmon has joined the growing list of candidates taking a run at the governor’s office.
The Republican launched his campaign early Wednesday in a video.
“We can’t allow liberal politicians to turn Arizona into California. We must protect the values that have made Arizona a beacon of opportunity,” the onetime state senator and U.S. representative said in the video.
“I believe in strong borders and an Arizona first agenda.”

You might say that Salmon has an upstream struggle ahead. :/
FYI
Yes. I wasn’t sure if this article posted.
It’s going to be a crowded field.
It will be a crowded field until 45th PRESIDENT TRUMP weighs in.
That was about 20 years ago.
A lot has changed since then and so have a lot of Pols that I had great respect for.
If the old Matt shows up, he may be the best Az Gov in a long time
Names familiar. But statewide?
Knowing what we know now, maybe his “narrow loss” to Napolitano is a little more understandable now.
Unless Matt has sold out to the Chinese, the Cartels and Soros like many other Az pols (which is a possibility) he is probably the best person for the job.
Good, honest man who kept his word to the people.
I want to know how tight he is with Flake. If he is, then he does not have my vote.
He rolled over and let Napolitano steal it from him last time.
I was not impressed.
I know. He called me.
I think not.
Got this link from Sal DiCiccio, a Phoenix City Councilman. It is a few years old but still worth noting regarding Salmon.
