Exactly. OR....to guarantee coverage for PEC and without charging extra, the only solution is to charge everyone as if they have them, whether they do or not, which most do not. And the vote/opinion of people stupid enough to think that’s a good idea counts same as ours. It’s intolerable.
I think I understand your point. The bottom line is that insurance companies cannot afford to cover pre-existing conditions without exorbitant rates - or exorbitant deductibles, which is the same thing.
The Affordable Care Act was designed to end up with everyone on a single payer health plan... probably leaving the wealthy to pay for everyone else but with no real coverage of their own, except pay as you go.
This issue, supported by lies, like everything the 'Rats do, reminds me of how, during the Carter years, the govt said it was sticking it to the oil companies -- and no one could understand why the price at the pump kept going up and why there were fuel shortages. The same goes for sticking it to corporations: the consumer pays the increased price. The politicians know that the people have not been educated as to how these things work: almost all taxes are paid by the little guy.
