LOS ANGELES (AP) — Britney Spears asked a judge Wednesday to end the court conservatorship that has controlled her life and money since 2008. The dramatic request at a Los Angeles hearing came with her first words in open court in the conservatorship during its 13-year existence. Spears called the conservatorship “abusive,” and condemned her father and the others who have controlled it. “I want to end this conservatorship without being evaluated,” Spears said by phone in a long, emotional and sometimes profane speech, in which she condemned the legal arrangement and her father, who has controlled it for most of its existence. Advertisement: “This conservatorship is doing me way more harm than good,” she said. “I deserve to have a life.” Spears said she wants to marry her boyfriend Sam Asghari and have a baby, but the conservatorship won’t allow her to. She told the court she’s being forced to take birth control against her will. “All I want is to own my money and for this to end and for my boyfriend to be able to drive me in his (expletive) car,” Spears said. In the written speech that lasted more than 20 minutes, Spears revealed many details that have been carefully guarded for years by the court. Advertisement: When an attorney representing her co-conservator said the hearing and transcript should be kept sealed if private medical information was to be revealed, Spears shouted her down to say her words should be public. “They’ve done a good job at exploiting my life,” Spears said, “so I feel like it should be an open court hearing and they should listen and hear what I have to say.”

When she had that major breakdown when she shaved her head, I watched the Hulu documentary on her and actually get why she acted out...and very, well may have done the same.
She’d gone to see her boys at the x’s house. He refused her entry although it was during a court-ordered/allowed visit. Naturally, paparazzi was following snapping away. Her sister, or friend?, was driving her and they left. So after pulling into a gas station the paps again began harassing her asking “how do you feel”, blah, blah, blah. The sister/friend begged them to leave her alone, but they refused. (This was all on video by the way, on that documentary.) Next Brit’s friend went into the store to pick up something and the photographer came back and started taking photos through the passenger window. Britney lost it, grabbed that umbrella, ran to their car, and started beating on it.
All that said, who wouldn’t be upset at this? They should be glad she didn’t beat the holy crap out of them instead! But, they got what they were after in the end. Dirt on that poor girl :(

Anyway, shaving the head was simple rebellion, nothing more or less. I’m hoping she is released from this conservator thing. It is basically slavery IMO.

I was talking about your comments on your post I replied to. You said a lot of things is if you almost know this girl, all we do is know her from however they portray her in the magazines and in the news broadcast, we don’t know her at all

If she's that nuts then why is she allowed to perform? Obviously she's not so crazy that she can't go on stage.
If she's sane enough to perform night after night then she ought to be able to do what she wants with her own money. It seems to me that everybody around her is bleeding her for all the money they can.

There are two things which folks on the thread are mostly missing. Her Perfumes business. She is one of the most powerful people in the business with something like ten fragrances in the top ten and her top fragrance outsells all others. Lots of money at stake.
Also the father got the conservatorship on a diagnosis of early onset dementia. This is now known to be false.
Strategy has been to delay the hearing and dope her. Those who impugn the boyfriend’s motive have no proof, (who knows maybe they are right) but there is plenty of proof that the father is avaricious. I am optimistic for her that for this hearing she was not doped at least not enough to sabotage her statement. The judge reaction that her statement was “courageous” was patronizing like the judge thinks Britney is a child. Not what she wanted to hear.
You’re right. The law says mentally ill poor people can live on the sidewalk in appalling conditions, danger to themselves and others, but rich mentally ill people can be kept as slaves to bring in money for their conservators??
