People have been worried about overpopulation for well over a century. Population has grown 8 or 9 fold over that time.
There is an argument to be made for practical considerations; e.g. protect agriculture, make it more efficient, make it more predominant. We humans have the technologies to turn deserts into farms. Desalination is one such technology.
I don’t think you’ll find a single person who is against clean air, clean water, and a healthy food supply. We can start there and stop talking about these other vanity concepts as if we are the problem and as if we can control the planet.
