Alaska has been very beneficial to the US both strategically and economically. Moreover, tossing away 3 reliable electoral votes isn’t a good idea either. 2 GOP Senators are needed to help maintain power in that body (granted, at present, one of them is Murkowski...hopefully that will soon improve).
There's no need for AK to be a state. It's as illogical as Greenland remaining a territory of Denmark.
