A federal judge Wednesday sentenced "Smallville" actress Allison Mack to three years in prison for her role in a purported self-help group that prosecutors say doubled as a secret sex cult.
Mack pleaded guilty in 2019 to various crimes, including extortion and forced labor, when she was a high-ranking member of NXIVM, the upstate New York group led by Keith Raniere, who is now serving a 120-year prison sentence.

I've known a few where I really had to work at it. One was actually impossible.
The guy who played Lex Luthor on Smallville (Michael Rosenbum?) had a podcast and he talked a little bit about her last year.
I don’t remember all the details, but apparently she was a very normal person for most of the show’s production. But, late into the series, she got involved this cult and her spiral into weirdness happened very quickly.
I believe the VAST majority of actors are already teetering on mental illness. It doesn’t take much - like a cult, for instance - to push them over the cliff.
