I always liked Rumsfeld. If the Chicoms attacked us militarily, this would have been the guy I’d prefer be in charge. Having said that, he is as guilty as that boob GWB for the worst, most expensive military quagmire this country has ever seen.
EVERY Senator and “journalist” who supported that war should have been hung after a war crimes trial. Anyone who wasn’t against it is no better than any supporter of Hitler’s invasion of Poland. the dumbest, most shameful thing the United States has ever done.
“Having said that, he is as guilty as that boob GWB for the worst, most expensive military quagmire this country has ever seen.”
Which one?
Rumsfeld didn’t make policy, he provided input and implemented the policies of the Administration he was a part of.
Saying that, I think he did a fine job in a sticky situation. I have always admired him and admired his style, even if I disagree with some decisions he made.
He always acted like the grown up in the room, and understood the dangers of various things even if he didn’t foresee them or was unable to react quickly enough.
And he wasn’t a yes man. However, he fully understood that when he got his marching orders, he moved on them. He didn’t engage in this cowardly behavior of subverting his boss like some turds we have seen.
RIP, Sir.
