The former MSNBC host, Toure Neblett, recently said this about the U.S. Independence Day: "... today, a time when white supremacy shapes American life ... it's still f**k Fourth of July for me ... Why would we celebrate that? ... The only independence day I recognize is Juneteenth."

Toure further said the killings of black men and women like George Floyd, Breonna Taylor and Ahmaud Arbery "remain hyperpresent in the Black mind." Toure intentionally ignores the 7,000 black people who are killed by other black people every year in the U.S. Toure seemingly wants those 7,000 black people (each year) to be 'hyperabsent' "in the black mind." The big question is: Why?
