My Dad was born in Hagerstown in 1933, and I visited relatives there in the 60’s. Seems there’s been changes to Western MD. Always liked Funkstown though.
During O'Malley's reign of terror, plans were made and forcefully executed to stuff formerly conservative Washington County with Democrat activists and muslim immigrants. These days, even the Republicans running things in WC might as well be Democrats. (One exception is Neil Parrott.)
Hagerstown yet is a whole different world.

It’s changed in my lifetime, a bit. I’d say by 25-30 years ago too many housing developments had popped up suddenly. All visible from 70.
They’ve been doing liberal things to the town, including tearing down the Judge Taney honors. Surprised they haven’t renamed Taneytown yet.
