Have you held a modern striker fire pistol?
Barrel lengths are 3.5-5 or so inches on average with a trigger pressure of just a few pounds, and weigh only a few lbs as well.
A 4 year child could discharge or just trying to grab it, a trigger “safety” is designed to prevent accidental discharge (assuming it even had one) if it were to fall, but offers no protection if someone presses against the trigger.
Parents stupider than a four year old.
I thought it said shotgun. Sorry, I was thinking of a bird gun or even a home defense shotgun. Sometimes my eyes and/or my brain disconnects from reality.
