China's military "drove away" a US warship that illegally entered Chinese waters near the Paracel Islands on Monday, the country's armed forces said.
"We urge the United States to immediately stop such provocative actions," the People's Liberation Army Southern Theatre Command said in a statement.
And the News Summary from Sunday is now available on the blog including the Cuban protests and South African riots...

Yada yada...
:)
My Sheltie drove away a garbage truck the other day.
This should be under Breaking News for people who believe CCP propagandists.
Very believable.
Does the ship have a name? USS Theodore Roosevelt? PT-109?
My little terrier scared the UPS guy.
We need to be prepared to sink ALL PRC capital ships , in one fell swoop .
No quarter , no remainder .
“My Sheltie drove away a garbage truck the other day.”
That was funny!
I listened to a China expert discuss why China put out press releases like this. He said that because the news sources consumed by the Chinese people are 100% controlled that the vast majority of Chinese believed what those sources said. The government is stoking the fear that the outside world is all anti-Chinese and that only the CCP can protect the people from being raped and murdered by foreign invaders. One necessary ingredient for going to war is that the people are 100% behind it so that they will accept the privations that will be imposed if war happens.
If China went to war and no ships made it into or out of the first island chain, then the Chinese people would starve in the millions.
China invaded the Paracels and took it from a company of South Vietnamese regional forces. Vietnamese records demonstrate possession of the islands for hundreds of years.
The Chinese do not belong there.
China is using small engagements but not doing enough to provoke a full scale war. It has been a very successful tactic. Because force has been used against them, Philippine fishermen immediately leave if they see a Chinese vessel. At some point there will be no fishermen in the vicinity of the “Nine Dash Line” and China will have won. For all practical purposes, they will own the territory encompassed in the first island chain. However, if a general war starts in, say Taiwan, then all of those pissed-off neighbors will see the opportunity to take back territory and maybe invade China proper. China has built dams on the major rivers all along the Chinese border. With those dams they can cause mass starvation in all the southern neighbors. Those neighbors are aware of that. If China is fully engaged they will probably lose those dams. At which point, the Chinese may use a few nukes just to gage the world’s response. If they get away with it, the CCP survives. If they don’t, China under the CCP is gone.
We urge the United States to immediately stop such provocative actions,
/\
Riiight.
I agree for Chinese consumption only.
China owns Joe and has our military cutting up its genitals while pledging fidelity to the little red book.
Sure it does. USS Biden Poseidon
Yeh sure. 😆
USS Benfold a destroyer.
That's a good point. They have too many vulnerabilities for direct war with the United States. Not to mention that they have lots of assets tied up in Western investments that they'd lose if they did something completely stupid.
However, they have one weapon that we've got no counter for ... Democrats and RINOs.
Good points all but they’ve still got mostly diesel vessels while all ours are nuclear except National Guard, therefore easily trackable. But our Navy has been heavily hit with the Obama/Biden pussifification wave and I no longer trust it to respond properly to aggression. “Lets have a girlie weekend and go shopping.” Um...no. We need real warriors on the job.
Lessee...
USS Benfold sails through area at steady speed.
Chinese ships follow.
USS Benfold continues and exits, still at original speed. Chinese ships return to near original positions.
For Chinese propaganda purposes, this is termed “chasing away”.
