WASHINGTON, D.C. – Last week, U.S. Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) sent a letter to Gen. Paul M. Nakasone, Director of the National Security Agency, demanding that he investigate the National Security Agency’s (NSA) alleged spying and unmasking of Tucker Carlson, as well as any leaks of his private emails from the NSA to other reporters.
“Mr. Carlson is a journalist, who currently hosts the popular news program Tucker Carlson Tonight, and as such he is to be afforded the freedom of the press protections guaranteed by the First Amendment to the United States Constitution,” said Dr. Paul. “As you are undoubtedly aware, Mr. Carlson recently alleged on his television show that the NSA not only read his private emails relating to his attempt to interview Russian President Vladimir Putin, but also that the NSA unmasked his identity and leaked his private emails, which identified him by name, to others in the press.”
“I am open-minded enough to believe, if given convincing evidence, that the NSA may be telling the truth, but when a long train of abuses conducted by the NSA evinces a consistent design to evade the law and violate the constitutionally-protected liberties of the people, the NSA must do more than tweet a carefully worded denial to be trusted. As the head of the NSA, you can help restore credibility to your agency by being completely honest with the American people and explaining in detail whether the NSA conducted surveillance on Tucker Carlson in his role as a journalist, whether you or anyone else within the federal government approved his alleged unmasking, and whether Mr. Carlson’s private emails were shared with any other reporters or news organizations,” said Dr. Paul.

I appreciate the effort but we still have a whole bunch of that unmasking evidence that has been left to fester. No consequences from that besides being promoted and enriched, so I doubt anyone will take Paul seriously?
Rand Paul must already know his emails, etc., are already being read by the NSA. He should have just sent this letter out to all of his contacts. The NSA would reply eventually!
Response from the NSA.
Dear Dr. Paul. We didn’t do it and we won’t do it again.
And if his party gets control of the House and Senate there still won’t be any consequences.
DO something constructive, cut off their funding.
Political cartoonist Ben Garrison has hit the nail on the head with this one:
“When we understand how the Fourth Branch works, questions about our dysfunctional U.S. modern government are answered. Additionally, the motives and intentions of people inside the institutions start to reconcile.” ~SD
The Intelligence Branch is an independent functioning branch of government, it is no longer a subsidiary set of agencies within the Executive Branch as most would think. To understand the Intelligence Branch, we need to drop the elementary school civics class lessons about three coequal branches of government, and replace that outlook with the modern system that created itself.
The Intelligence Branch functions, much like the State Dept, through a unique set of public-private partnerships that support it. Big Tech industry collaboration with intelligence operatives is part of that functioning; almost like an NGO. However, the process is much more important than most think. In this problematic perspective of a corrupt system of government, the process has become the flaw – not just the visible outcomes.
There are people making decisions inside this little-known, unregulated and out-of-control branch of government that impact every facet of our lives.
None of the people operating deep inside the Intelligence Branch were elected; and our elected representative House members genuinely do not know how the system works. I know this because I have talked to House and Senate staffers, including the chiefs of staff for multiple House committee seats. They are clueless. That is part of the purpose of me explaining it, with examples, in full detail and sunlight.
Until we fix this modern bastardization of government, it doesn’t matter who we elect into office. Politicians are irrelevant, albeit useful gnats, from the perspective of the people in control of the Intelligence Branch.
THE MEDIA
Rand Paul never asks a question in public he doesn’t already know the the whole and complete answers to.
That’s like the chickens sending a letter to the fox.
