The essence of the historical facts he states is correct.
And, it’s a signal to the world that Russia intends Ukraine will remain, at least, in their sphere of influence.
There is no doubt Russia would fight an existential war over that assertion. They’ve done it before, several times.
And they have a million soldiers buried there to declare their stake and intent.
It’s like saying the Irish and English are “one people”.
My Ukrainian grandmother took great exception to being called a Russian.
My younger sister made the mistake of referring to Ukrainians as Russian in her presence once. Barely escaped intact.
I skimmed over this but I believe that the Ukraine has always been Russia long before 1919 and more like 800. If China moves on Taiwan there is no reason why the Russians can not do the same. Not that I condone but more like Biden is a disaster.

He is not completely wrong about the history, but ignores the vicious repression of the Ukrainian people, including the “Holodomor “ and the death of-10 million by deliberate starvation and the sacrifice so many in WW-2.
Coincidence! I had a Ukrainian grandmother too! She was from Central Ukraine and didn’t seem to mind being called Russian, though she hated Stalin.
From Ukrainian expats I glean that corruption and the ever constant search for the "vig" permeates the political culture in Kyiv.
Except for the Baltic and Slavic nations in Nato, I would be tempted to say let Kyiv and Moscow have at it. The only certainty I have is that Biden and Blinken are not up to managing the impending crisis.
All I know is, a heck of a lot more Ukrainians have fled to Poland, than they have to Russia.
And any Russian would counter that with, "What about American 'Manifest Destiny'?"

The Ukraine was a Russian kleptocracy, which the CIA was able to turn into an American kleptocracy. They pay-off politicians like the Bidens, and suddenly, we have a strategic interest in Ukraine. Imagine that.

However, Russia and Ukraine need to move toward unity, in the spirit of Orthodox Brotherhood, and free from outside interference (including biden and his corrupt family)!!
