Russia: Russia on Tuesday (Jul 20) unveiled its new Sukhoi stealth fighter jet designed to compete with the US F-35 and capable of striking six targets simultaneously.

Dubbed "The Checkmate", the plane was first shown to a reportedly "pleased" President Vladimir Putin before the launch at a biennial airshow outside Moscow.

Reports first surfaced that the jet was being manufactured in May last year. According to the launch video it was developed "in record time".

Nothing developed in record time works.

The Pentagon is a prime example.

The “unveiling” seems to have been of a mockup for the purpose of drawing interest from potential foreign investors and customers. Russia does not seem to have an actual flyable prototype, let alone a production model. On balance, a Back to the Future type time machine in a DeLorean chassis is more likely to enter production than Russia’s claimed new model fighter.

Yea, it’s a great plane with great tech that can defeat ours, but does is accommodate a pregnant man who wants to breastfeed during a dogfight while menstruating?

Signed,

I imagine it’s because the useful idiots in the US media don’t read Cyrillic? Just a thought

The Sukhoi Checkmate looks like the Boeing X-32 "Monica" that went on a crash South Beach Diet to get ready for bikini season.

Could it be that English is the international language?
