(I read into this a bit trying to figure out how the leap was made from “grandpa” to what-it-is, and really am not satisfied I know.)
Because the leap wasn’t made. The rapper who came up with Zaddy has no clue it is Yiddish and neither do the hipsters at Dictionary.com
Maybe it’s not related to the Yiddish word at all. Perhaps just co-incidental?
