Different title and source. Fair play, IMO.

ZZTop was easily the best Superbowl Half-Time Show I ever saw.

So sad to hear that Dusty died so young. I am glad I got to see them in their La Grange era years.

Yep, I got to see them early on, too - at The Warehouse in New Orleans. That was back when the Allman Brothers Band was the unofficial "house band" at that venue, just before they became big names.

RIP, Dusty.

I hope they do an autopsy, when someone that good dies that young, we have to know how, how, how, how.

(I’ll show myself out).

Keith Richards would require almost no time in wardrobe&makeup to play a in a zombie flick.

I think Billy Gibbons flipped the bird to someone at the 32-seconds mark on the first clip. And he doesn't miss a note. Beautiful.

All-original members for 50+ years, until the end. RIP.

Billy just did a solo record with a different band, I think this was supposed to be ZZ Top’s Final Tour.

I saw many concerts at the Warehouse including many original member Allman Bros concerts but didn’t Z Z Top see them there. I did see Z Z Top at City Park Stadium in 1975 along with Jeff Beck, Aerosmith and others.

Dang. That sucks. Glad I got to see them … and in La Grange, TX of all places.

RIP, Dusty.

This stinks on ice. I was telling my wife a couple months ago that there was a bucket list of bands I wanted so see before they (or I) disappear, and ZZ Top was one of them. AC/DC and Deep Purple are on that list, too, but each of those bands are down a man or two from their glory days. Age and whatnot is starting to catch up to these guys.

Hill’s admirers also included Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards, who introduced ZZ Top at their induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

I recall them opening at The Warehouse for possibly Captain Beyond & Wishbone Ash(?) and they were introduced as a “small, unknown band who drove all the way from Texas in a van to play for ya’ll tonight”. It was the first time I heard them and the only time I saw them LIVE.

The above said, my Line 6 Helix has a patch in it named Dusty ZZ that is a dirty, clangy patch that imitates Dusty’s tone on the Live from The Warehouse song “Thunderbird”. Dad gave me a bass in 1965 and it’s been following me around since. Still lucky enough to be in a great band and play ZZ tunes.

RIP Dusty.
