Former Sen. Carl Levin (D-Mich.) has died at the age of 87.
The Levin Center at Wayne State University announced the late senator’s death Thursday evening, calling him "a dearly beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle, and life-long public servant.”
“For those who were lucky enough to be a part of his early work in Detroit, his decades in the Senate, and beyond, he was an inspirational leader and so much more,” the statement said.
“He will be remembered for his relentless intellect and work ethic, his humility, his humor, and his strength of character,” it added.
Levin, the longest-serving senator in Michigan history, retired in 2015 after 36 years in the chamber.
Now that's a problem right there.
Farewell, Karl Lenin...
A DemoRAT if there ever was one.
You have to respect the fact that he’s one of the few recent Michigan Democrat senators that haven’t stolen an election from John James.
Forgive me if I don’t weep...
Every time a demonrat dies a bat in hell gets its wings.
NO TEARS HERE
All I can say here is that I do not in any way, shape, or form mourn his death.
And that is the best I can say.
OH NO!!...I forgot to put the clothes in the dryer.
His nephew is still in Congress, and Carl is probably still voting himself ...
He was no good and now he is dead. End of story.
I won’t speak ill of him. May Jesus comfort his family. I would say his positive attributes as described in this article are way overblown, to put it generously.
So the devil finally claimed his soul.
Carl Levin was a rodent of the worst order.
That look became a political issue when Charlie Gibson did the same thing when interviewing VP candidate Sarah Palin.

Ugh. What a long day this guy was.
Alas. Another dead hack
I thought he was already dead...and I am from Michigan.
Exactly how I feel.
