During a conference call with analysts last week, Shake Shack’s chief financial officer Katherine Fogerty said customers will be paying three to 3.5 percent more for their food in the fourth quarter of 2021.
In December of last year, Shake Shack raised its prices two percent, which was followed by a ten percent increase this past spring. In February, the burger chain increased its delivery prices via third-party apps by five percent.
According to Restaurant Business, Shake Shack’s restaurants in suburban locations in states like Texas, Oregon, and Indiana have not only returned to normal but are “above pre-pandemic levels” in terms of sales. Such increases, however, will not be enough to save Shake Shack from its economic troubles.
“Recovery in our urban Shacks still presents our greatest opportunity to recapture sales,” Garutti said.
As the New York Post reported in July, inflation surged throughout the month of June as consumer prices jumped 5.4 percent — the largest increase since 2008.

They also have to make up for the loss of customers due to their policy of telling the unvaccinated that they are not welcome in their restaurants.

The employee girls fighting and elbowing each other on the sidewalk earned not a dime for Shake Shack. One man interviewed said “I’m glad I wasn’t in there. I was just about to go in.”
So Shake Shack is woke.

even before the announcement they will ONLY serve the vaxxed, i’ve been there only ONCE, and didnt pay for it. Some other loser did. Good thing so I can claim I never gave them my money. Never been to CFA after their lefty turn either and they are almost 4 blocks away from us..

Shake Shack is a “woke” company and besides which many alternative competitors have much better products.
Shake Sake merely excels at attracting the woke on the pretense there is something novel and better about Shake Shack, but there isn’t.
I am so not with it. Never bought one of their burgers or a Starbucks mocha caramel latte with a whisper of cinnamon.
I guess I never will.

I’ve never had a burger half as good as what I make in my back yard. The local market sells a lot of trimmed ribeye, and the spinalis dorsi gets ground up and sold for $3.99/lb. The first burger gets eaten of the grill with nothing added. Subsequent ones get a cheap burger roll and a slab of garden tomato. Add some charred, buttered sweet corn on the cob....heaven. Oh, and beer.
Shake Shack is ok but in my opinion very expensive and overrated.
Alternative is “Steak and Shake”. It’s awesome and embarrassingly inexpensive. Give a nice tip since the food is so cheap. The food is incredibly delicious.
