Reaction to the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), led by Dr. Anthony Fauci, giving a university a taxpayer-funded grant to conduct experiments using beagles has been vicious, with the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) leading the response.
That activist organization told Breitbart News that Francis Collins, director of the National Institutes of Health, which oversees NIAID, should be fired from her post.
“It’s high time to fire NIH director Francis Collins for mismanagement of NIH, waste of taxpayer funds and the continuation of animal experiments that are replaceable by vastly superior, modern, technological breakthrough science,” Kathy Guillermo, PETA senior vice president, said.
“The deadly experiments on dogs are proof that Fauci’s boss is stuck in the failed science of yesteryear,” Guillermo continued. “He is spending billions of dollars on studies that include infecting and cutting up dogs, frightening monkeys, and addicting mice to cocaine that don’t lead to cures or vaccines while humans die from Alzheimer’s, HIV, cancer, multiple sclerosis, ALS, and other deadly ailments.”

I am not a normally a Peta Supporter, but if they end up getting rid of Fauci and his boss I will applaud them.
The left doesn’t care about human life at all...but let an animal suffer anything and all hell breaks loose.
I can’t put my finger on it, but it signals a species on the edge of extinction (humans).

Our dog before our current canine was a beagle, so of course, I read up on them. Besides being ‘rabbit dogs’ they are often used as bait for pit bulls and in scientific experiments. In the latter they are favored for their placid temperament. They tend to be sweet dogs who put up with what amounts to mistreatment.
It’s irrational, of course, but I’m uncomfortable with using man’s best friend in experiments that hurt or doom the animal.
This makes me SICK - I can’t imagine doing these things. What sort of bastard do you have to be for this cruelty.

I agree with you. It’s not right and it’s cruel.
There is an even larger issue w animal research..its a money game for tbe “ researchers” when now we know most of that research is at best worthless..and so often derails us from true info because humans are not beagles..and we have way better scientific research that does not use animals and is accurate.
Of course..fauci is anywhere he gets a big cut of money..no matter what the research is...he should be prosecuted

Through watching YouTube videos several nights ago, I recently became aware that Beagles are the number one choice for dogs used in lab experiments.
There is a rescue group that negotiates with the labs to allow their release to the rescue rather than be euthanized.
This is one of the videos I saw the other night of rescued Beagles experiencing sun and grass for the first time:
Perhaps the PETA folks could volunteer to stand in for the animals.

Not right. In fact, it’s downright evil. Burn in hell you friggin’ sadists. And, yes, it is true. Many sadists enjoy animal experimentation and that is why they are in the field. Smite them, My Lord.
It was absolutely criminal for them to subject these poor little dogs to such pain and cruelty, especially considering this “research” covered research ALREADY DONE. There was no need for this experiment. I would only hope the researchers, Fauci, and his criminal boss would be injected with the same parasites and we could listen to their cries of pain. And I’d laugh.
The mice say they would like to opt out of this protest.
