the Attorney General's office was tipped off by a community member

I wondered how they were caught. The cards appear to be very easy to forge.

The government was tipped off, and can verify against the CDC database

Supposedly the real cards tie back to a CDC database and would be easy to check.

Reminds me of the Soviet’s snitching on their neighbors. Tipped off by a “community member”. Sounds like they were yapping about it on the plane.

SUPER easy. Here’s an example of what could happen:

So, courtesy of the great State of Florida:

https://ahca.myflorida.com/docs/2020_COVID_19_Vaccination_Record_Card.pdf

Printed dimensions are 4x3 on white card stock.

Either the patient or a healthcare worker puts the patient’s name on it; sometimes they mess up the spelling — get a letter wrong, or omit one of a double... That could make it difficult to assail the validity of a card later on using any kind of State/national database. This could be construed as advantageous.

Now, say, for instance, the person is going to fake they got the Moderna jab. Then whatever they pick for the Site info better be dispensing Moderna, so they’d have to think about that.

Moderna has an online tool anyone could use to play with Lot numbers and expiration dates until they got a couple that would fit with their claimed vax dates.

https://www.modernatx.com/covid19vaccine-eua/providers/vial-lookup

Moderna Lot/Exp data looks like this, for example:
027B21A
X 9/18

028C21A
X 10/24

Since people get the jabs a month apart, it’s sane to have the Lot expirations be about a month apart, too. BEST to have the expirations be at least four weeks past the reported vax dates. So, the ones above would be cool for vax dates in July and August respectively, for instance.

Some places have peel-and-stick labels with this data. MANY just scrawl it in.

And the site where the jab was administered — I’ve seen “UHC” scrawled in, indicating a location run by United Healthcare. “CVS” for the drugstore chain... Folks would need to think, and be sensible, but the range of possibilities is immense.

Other telltales of authenticity:
The supposed patient could write their name in a hand not their own using one type/color of pen. Maybe “oops” the spelling. [Schmit instead of Schmidt, Kelly instead of Kelli, etc]

They could use a different type/color pen for the lot/exp date site info for the first jab, or get someone else to use their most harried healthcare worker scrawl for this part.
Then use the same type/color pen but a different hand for the second jab.

It could happen in that sort of way.
You know, some people are just SO into this virtue signaling that there’s pics of these cards all around of the web, now.

So, yeah; it could be really easy to fake these.
