Ford’s approval took a nosedive after Vietnam, but it recovered quickly. Biden’s approval will rebound as the media spins their distraction narratives.
I am not sure the two are comparable.
Yes we did not win in Southern Vietnam, but Vietnam just wanted to unify their country. Sure lots of Americans looked at what happened, and concluded the country was an enemy. I personally think longer-term the country is rapidly moving toward America once again, and this is positive.
Afghanistan seems more likely to raise tensions internationally, and maybe with America. This is much different than Vietnam.
We will have to wait and see, but it seems at least within possibity, that we may at some point face from Afghanistan, more opposition than what we faced from Vietnam.
Lots of Americans seem to have walked away from Vietnam with the feeling that the counry is the enemy. They do not appear to me, to be a true threat to America. They just do not.
I am not yet willing to say the same about the Taliban, at the moment.
They are not the same.
(Or at least they do not appear to be, to me)
At least not yet.
He lost the election.
