Sounds like the staff is throwing the boss under the bus.

yeah...too afriad my ass! Too ambitious, is more like it. These people are inexperienced, indoctrinated, and have the wrong beliefs but the’re not stupid. Arguably they’re the “best and brightest” and while I don’t necessarily buy that I will claim they are smart enough to recognize a sinking ship when they’re onboard one.

Put yourself in the place of some 20 or 30-something with a fancy degree and your first real big job in government. You started out dreaming of a great future and now you’re confronted daily with a drooling old fool who you and all your pals around the pub table agree can’t possibly survive 4 years. You also can count and thus know Harris already has her own staff who would be your competition to keep your position in a Harris administration.

So what are you likely to do? Pin your hopes and future to the dotard? Or start positioning yourself to become part of what comes next?

I’m certain this is going on although I can’t prove it, just because I understand how large organizations filled with ambitious young “rising stars” works. They’ll be discrete of course, but I’ll bet the family jewels that Biden’s staff is setting him up, feeding him conflicting or misleading information, holding back and shading what he is told, and certainly not volunteering to hold his hand while he goes down with the ship.

You might even start seeing the Afghanistan debacle as a crisis not to be wasted.
