Six people on Britain’s ‘no fly’ list picked up in security checks in Kabul and Frankfurt..
Six people deemed a “direct threat” to the UK have been flagged up in security checks of would-be evacuees from Kabul, amid broader warnings that the Islamic State terror group is targeting British soldiers and officials at the airport.
The individuals were on Britain’s “no fly” list – although MPs were told in a briefing on Monday that one had made it to Birmingham airport, where many evacuees are landing. It is unclear what happened to the person next.

Kevin Foster, a junior immigration minister, said: “We’ve had more hits on our ‘no fly’ list, that is people who are a direct threat to this country if they were able to come here, in the last week in the context of Afghanistan … than we would normally expect in a year of normal flights and travel [from the country]”.
Border Force officials said that another four people had been picked up as part of the screening process at Kabul airport being run by a mixture of Foreign Office and Home Office staff, while a fifth got as far as Frankfurt.

James Heappey, the armed forces minister, told MPs on the same call that “the threat in Kabul is severe” and came from the local affiliate of the Isis terror group, known as Isis-KP, who are targeting the more than 6,000 US, UK and other western soldiers protecting the airport.

A lot of other violent radicals were let out, the ones that we are particularly tracking and keeping an eye on is Isis-KP, Islamic State in Afghanistan.” The group, he said, is opposed to the west and the Taliban, and their intentions were “wholly violent”.

On one of my Afghanistan gigs I had a hand in checking the ID paperwork for Afghans looking to work on our sites. Their docs were a total joke. A complete idiot with a scanner, printer and the internet could forge them. One morning, while engaged in the useless exercise of “vetting” some Afghans, I turned to the guy sitting next to me and said, “Why the f*ck are we wasting our time doing this useless bullshit? This is a joke!” Then we laughed. But now, with some if these unidentifiable people heading to America, it’s not funny at all.
We had VC working as longshoreman on our ship while in Saigon. Fires in the cargo hold here & there.
The joke was they set set off rockets at the ship on their way to work.

In any truly civilized country such existential threats would be eliminated tout suite.
Now in the United States, posing a direct threat would mean a woman who displayed the American flag on her front porch , a schoolkid who refused to dress up as the other sex for the teacher’s gender time assignment, or a guy who registered as a Republican and gathered his wife and children in the car, holding bibles, and drove to church on Sunday morning.
Talk about threats.
But we have to urgently let them all in because the Taleeban is going to kill them all right now, dontcha know. No time for caution. It always seems to be like that - there’s some desperate crisis and there’s no time to lose. I don’t believe for a minute these jokers who say they’ve all been vetted already.
