Correction: “Other than a Joe Biden presidency, a serious asteroid impact remains one of the worst possible natural disasters as there is very little we can do to stop one.”

The ignorant author has no idea what entering an orbit means. Crossing an orbit is not the same as entering.

It spans roughly 2540ft (774m) and should fly past us on September 9. Or not

Even though it would wipe us all out, at least I could take some personal satisfaction if it directly hit Washington DC.

A serious asteroid impact remains one of the worst possible natural disasters as there is very little we can do to stop one. Yeah our record of stopping earthquakes floods hurricanes tornados etc. etc. is amazing.

If we raise taxes NOW, perhaps this might be averted.

This is the one I’m more interested in.

Like others have pointed out above, this article is ridiculous. How does this asteroid enter our atmosphere on Sunday and hang around until September 9th? Wow.
Journalist need to “follow the science,” even if it’s only science I learned in elementary school.

Now wait a damned minute here! What about that “slightly smaller” one that is to enter atmosphere? What do you mean, “Slightly”?
I couldn’t care less if one whizzes by the orbit or (stupidly described) enters. Getting into atmosphere is generally irreversible.

OMG!!! Global Warming has caused our atmosphere to heat up and become less dense so this thing will now have less friction to burn it up! Damn Fossil Fuels!!!
