Batteries are dangerous.

Anyone who has dealt with big electric vehicles (like fork trucks) for any length of time has stories.

The old lead acid batteries were fairly safe. They got to the point where you could kill the battery, but not burn the plant down.

The new Lithium ones are very good, but every once in a while turn into a torch. Enough that the first generation of Li for truck batteries were put in a special area just in case.

I do wonder how the EV’s meet residential fire code.

“I do wonder how the EV’s meet residential fire code.”

I foresee some new questions on homeowners policies:

Do you own any pitbulls?
Do you own any electric vehicles? If so, are they kept under HPR approved sprinklers or parked outside?
Do you have a fireplug within 20 feet of your garage?
Are you a Democrat or otherwise mentally impaired?

If they catch fire while charging, Team Biden will launch lawfare against the coal companies that dig the fuel that runs the plants that generate the power that recharges EVs. Simple.
